It was a busy month PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 26 February 2014 15:26

Despite the snowy interruptions, we have had a very BUSY month.  On January 14th, 22 of us boarded a chartered bus for a wonderful afternoon at The Jewish Museum in New York City. Two well informed docents gave us tours of the Speigelman and Chagall Exhibits. Both of which are a MUST, if you have not already seen them.  We also had a delicious lunch in the Museum's dining room (thank you to our very own Shari Aronson, who helped set it all up!).

On January 29th, Sisterhood co-hosted a kosher wine tasting evening with the Early Childhood Center.  It was a very informative night filled with some very good tasting wines!!! Check your emails and the Scribe for more interesting and fun events sponsored by Sisterhood in the upcoming months.

Also, in early March you will be receiving our Mishloach Manot flyer. This is one of two of our yearly fundraisers (the other being the New Year’s Card Booklet).   Your participation in this program allows Sisterhood to continue to fund many great programs at the JCCH and to provide wonderful trips and events for our members at nominal or no cost.   We really hope you will participate.   In addition, Bea Goldstein and Patti Renton have created new beautiful Purim baskets that we know you will enjoy.  Looking forward to seeing you at the next Sisterhood sponsored event.  Until then, stay warm and safe. Join Upcoming Events PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 27 December 2012 09:42

By now, we hope that all of our fellow congregants are safely back in their homes after Superstorm Sandy. What a crazy few weeks! I think we're all grateful to be back to our routines and schedules.

Looking forward, we are tentatively scheduled to attend the Chai House for our traditional celebration of Hanukkah on Sunday, December 9th. We'll join Chai House's lovely ladies and enjoy latkes and candle lighting with them. Please look for an email confirming the date. If you're interested in joining us for this worthwhile evening, please email Amy at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Please keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming email about a terrific theatre trip that Sisterhood is planning! We're going to see "My Name is Asher Lev" at the Westside Theatre off-Broadway. This is a new play that's just opened and it's based on the long-loved novel by Chaim Potok. We are looking to schedule our outing for late January or early February.  As always, if there's a program that you'd like to see happen and even something that you'd like to help the Sisterhood create, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We both wish all members of the JCCH and your loved ones a very Happy Hanukkah and a wonderful holiday season!

Clsoing Luncheon PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 01 May 2012 08:11
On Tuesday, April 24th we were fortunate enough to have Laurie Girsky and Cindy Golub, principals of G-Squared Advisory, provide us with an amazing presentation on fiscal responsibility for women. They shared invaluable tips on estate planning and financial investment.  All of us who attended went home with a checklist of essential information and documentation to review and check in order to protect ourselves, our families and our property!  We speak for everyone there when we say it was a wonderful and informative morning. Thank you to all who came out to enjoy this event and helped to support Sisterhood!  Cindy and Laurie offered to do another seminar in the fall for anyone who missed the program this morning and would like to take it.  Please let us know if you're interested. Our next and last event prior to the summer will be the Sisterhood Closing Luncheon being held at The Jewish Museum in New York City on May 30.  While the Museum is closed to the public, we will enjoy a private tour of two new exhibits followed by a light lunch. You surely won't want to miss this fun event so please get your responses in ASAP!!!  Invitations went out last week--if you did not receive yours, feel free to give us a call or email us for more information.  Thank you!  Amy Hughson( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
